One of the oldest diseases prevailing worldwide is Polio. Also known as poliomyelitis it is a highly contagious and desolated disease. It has blighted the human civilization since a long time. The root cause of this disease is a virus which assails the nervous system and paralyses the whole body. In many cases it can also cause Death. The disease is found prevailing more in the children’s of age group below 5. The cause of this disease is the virus that enters the body through mouth and in a few seconds it starts multiplying itself in the intestine of the host. The spread of this disease generally takes place due to poor hygiene condition as the virus circulates in the air through the medium of affected people. Till date there is no cure available for this disease and the only way to run away from it is immunization. Polio vaccine given to a child can protect him/her for the life time.
